Ons Adds Livery Charges To Inflation Basket

Recommended Posts

One curiosity is the inclusion of livery charges in the list of leisure prices, which follows rapid growth in popularity of horseriding and, the ONS notes, brings in “a distinct market not currently represented”.

Do they include yacht moorings or helicopter landing charges?

When I first saw this thread, I thought it read: "One Adds Livery Charges To Inflation Basket"

A few months ago our local Lidl had a lot of equestrian related goods which sold out in a few days. I don't know anyone with a horse.

All the kinky BDSM people into pony-girls. Apparently Lidls and Ikea are top places for buying fetish equipment these days.

MP's are permitted to purchase a second home for their horse close to Hyde Park, so they can ride in the peace and quiet each morning.

Some MP's have abused this by claiming their wife is a donkey, and therefore requires a seperate second home detailed as livery charges.

Ikea? I knew Lidl had this kind of stuff, and I've always found it rather puzzling (who on earth's buying all these horse-blankets and curry-combs?), but what have Ikea got that falls into this area?

Every so often they sell woden stacking storage boxes that have a cushion on top. Sometimes they look like those wooden vaulting horses they used to have in schools back in the 1970s and before. I am told that BDSM people use them as spanking stools - bend your missus over the side and reach for your spanking implement. Not sure if Ikea sell those though.

Yes Ikea do sell them but is special order only, and comes in brown packaging invoiced as Health Aids ;)

People's inventiveness never fails to amaze me. I'm still not convinced by the Ikea thing though: "OK Dorothy, if you could just straddle that Ikea bookcase ...... nnnnnnngh ..... urghhh .... ohhhhh!"

Local pikeys?

No, round my way they use huge pick-ups, transits, Mitsubishi FWDs etc, usually with total disregard to any other road users, including the odd horse.

I think Tulip's explaination, The English Vice, is the true explaination for whose buying this stuff.

they should add porn and sex toys to the basket. A huge and distinct market not currently represented.
