Faith Adds £100m Economic Benefits For Wales

Recommended Posts

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/7289508.stm

"Religious and faith organisations contribute more than £100m in economic benefits to Wales, a report says. "

"98% of faith groups are Christian"

"Based on population, the groups' contribution would mean that religious organisations across Britain generate at least £2.1bn annually. "

this is very unwelcome evidence for the militant atheists who want to do away with religion having lied to the public about how faith is bad for society

do atheist groups add £2bn to the UK economy?

98%? Have they been reported to the monopolies commission? I think they're stifling the local pagans!

Blog_Pew_Religiosity.gif

This is indeed an interesting chart (via Sullivan) from a Pew global survey that was released earlier this month. It's interesting, of course, because it's a graphical demonstration of something I've long figured was true, and like most of us, I just love it when I see confirmation of a preexisting belief.

Motivation aside, though, it's still interesting, even if it's not surprising. As people get less religious, they get wealthier. Or perhaps the other way around. Or perhaps there's something else behind both trends.

I think it's the love of money not the money that is the root of all evil.
