"idiocracy" By Mike Judge

For anyone who didn't watch it, it's a brilliant movie. Let me reveal a little bit:

Fast forward to 2505.

An energy drink has replaced all uses of water except for toilet water. Hence, the energy drink producer, the Brawndo corporation, has virtually taken over the world. Half of the population is employed by Brawndo and the world "economy" relies on Brawndo's monopoly.

The crisis starts when all the crops stop growing because they are constantly watered with Brawndo.

When Joe Bauers, the main character, realized that the reason crops wouldn't grow was because they were being watered with Brawndo, he replaced it with pure water. The shares of Brawndo collapsed and it cost the population half of their jobs.

So, the public would turn against him and blame him for their misery. No one dared to mention the huge corporation that ruined all the standards and misled them in the first place.

That's what we see today. Everyone wants to save the big banks and there's a big cry out all over the media, because 'we are lost when they fall'. No one mentions the real reasons, the greed and the abandoned fundamentals...
