Banking Turmoil Is Making Me Uneasy

It is fair to say, however, that should this occur with an overseas bank operating in the UK, the government is very unlikely to bail out savers as it did following the run at Northern Rock

This in itself means a greater risk with overseas banks in the UK.

Special exemption for the Bank of Ireland,operated by the Post Office.Couldn't let those pensioners down could we after they have also enjoyed the housing boom.(but we thought those friendly ants were national savings,aren't they)
