Does Anyone Remember The Name Of The Bank/website?

Recommended Posts

I remember a website that worked like betfair but for loans/savings, the website matches borrowers with savers and it took a small spread in the middle. Does anyone remember the name? Im interested what the IRs, especially as the spread between borrowing rate and lending rate appears to be growing...

ZOPA.com?

I use Zopa to lend money - it's good fun.

Not sure it gives a proper spread etc, lenders just offer the rate they are prepared to lend money at and buyers chose how much they want to pay - their average interest rate is based on the sum of the individual loans. As a borrower you can choose to take the average or not. As a lender you set the interest rate you want. If it's low enough your money will get lent out. If it's high enough it won't.

Works quite well. I only lend in "risky" markets (12-24 months, B and C grade markets) and so far have had no bad debt. Sums involved are quite small that you lend to each individual borrower (configurable minimum amount) so more a bit of fun than anything serious.

Seems to fill a gap in the market.

If anyone is interested in joining up PM me and we can share the joining bonus (if it's still runnning!).

Bos.
