very volatile market today. would not have tipped on a red ending. Someone must have made/lost a lot of money during the 180 point drop after lunch!! :o

The Bear Stearns collapse may be confirming a lot of worst fears that the tip of the iceberg is hiding a lot more horrors:

Interesting to see HBOS taking a bigger pounding (or should that be a dollaring?) than A&L and B&B

I did not think HBOS was at any particular risk - I am surprised the banks have taken such a battering - I think I will be picking up some bargains soon - they seem just so cheap / really cheap - anyone know more about the risks from these banks - they are not like NR after all ???

The trouble with the banks is...just when you think they look cheap they go for highly dilutive capital raisings. Beware. Wait.

yep once we see one or 2 banks raise capital it will be time to start to buy.

the best advice for now is Never catch a falling knife!

Remember all those Northern Crock threads when the price was 400p,300p,250p,200p,150p,100p.......flatline......

Probably time to conserve wealth and be ready to fight another day. I'm keeping an eye on pharmas for an upturn. Banks could be full or suprises for quite some time yet.
