Watch IR soar if Ben cuts again in the US. The last time he cut, the 30 year fixed went over 7%!

I suspect Merv has seen what has happened in the US and thinks it best to stand pat as to cut might send Libor up up and away.

The CBs are locked up no matter what they do IR are rising. You cannot beat the market and the markert is screaming two things:

1. Risk

2. Inflation

That means higher IR.

CBs have lost control.

Ouch.

Any mortgages linked to libor?

Someone posted here, somewhere, that they had a LIBOR linked mortgage,

though how (and why???) they got it, I don't know.

Oh yes, this time though no cutting at the BofE after all, they can't trust what the banks told them the LIBOR rate was; what with the last revelation. Still the MPC would be better concentrating on inflation. Like they are supposed to do.
