yaakov
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2008/03/13...is-bear-market/ The Bear rumours are back. As in Bear Stearns - stock down 12 per cent in New York on Thursday, while the five year CDS has gapped 120bp to 700bp. All sorts of uncorroborated rumours are flying. bobthe~
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2008/03/13...is-bear-market/ There's no smoke without fire, you know. Ask that paediatrician who had her car smashed up by sun readers.
Methodius
http://ftalphaville.ft.com/blog/2008/03/13...is-bear-market/ I believe Bear Stearns is close to failure. It's 1 year CDS was quoted at over 1000 last night. Its ability to raise money has been destroyed. Without the funding to operate it is doomed. polionamen
BS did not want to get involved in 1998 in the LTCM bail-out. Now the other banks are making them pay for this lack of solidarity.

Indeed, there is nothing so vicious as a usurer scorned. Except perhaps for a whole cartel of usurers scorned that is.
