Ea And Letting Agent Together

Recommended Posts

There's a letting agent at the local EA and they apparently buy properties for sale themselves - I wonder how this is monitored and whether some people realise the EA valuing their home is then going to buy it!

(They've also got a mortgage company I think)

I worked for an EA, Did lettings not sure if they owned any properties and sold Mortgages and did surveys.

I've seen loads of their letting signs but assumed very wrongly they were an agency managing properties but a neighbour told me he definietly owns loads of properties.

Just seems a bit wrong.

not illegal in itself, howeverif the EA in question does not disclose his involvement when they purchase property through their own company, that is a different matter.

search for posts by a user called terrified, her house was bought by the surveyor friend of the estate agent that was 'selling' her house. She had no viewings for months and months, the only viewing came from the EAs friend who bought well below market value with the EA. They flipped the property and sold for 100-150k profit?

This is the same EA who's staff told me "a lot of our properties are probate"

So do relatives just wanting the cash worry too much?
