Careful Alastair! You don't want to risk upsetting Labour's muslim block-vote in Birmingham and elsewhere

Someone shouldn't have to pay stamp duty twice on the same property, the commerical loophole is just Labour's incompetence nothing to do with sharia "mortgages" .

For instance the charitable trust scheme is even worse which every major bank has used to move Billions offshore and screw with captial ratios and profits.

The private equity tax dodge by creating a company so indebted it never profits to pay tax

Employing yourself through a shell company in a tax haven so they don't release details to HMRC and having UK earnings paid to it first while remaing non resident.

Or the vast amount lost through VAT carousel fraud (£4.75Bn p.a. 05/06) rising each year.

This little fraud amounts to a tiny £40 million ? or so for the incompetent New Labour. After they drag us down into economic recession there may be nothing left to defraud :)
