But there shouldn't be any distressed borrowers because Brown and Darling have both stated the NR loan book is solid ( as long as house prices really are one way)

The Granite bit that was hived of is probably a bit more solid than the bit we bought. I suspect that is what U-turn Ali was referring to. Did he preface his statement with "Let us be clear about this...?"
