Rock chief faces jobs dilemma

Northern Rock finance director Ann Godbehere could be forced to slash jobs in the finance function as her first task in her new role
Written by David Jetuah

‘There will have to be some threat to jobs,’ said Collins Stewart analyst Alex Potter. ‘The priority will be to reduce the asset base of the bank...../’
Godbehere is being paid £75,000 a month to do the job. She has spent 31 years in the profession.

There's something terribly wrong with this Country when salaries like that are accepted as ok for that particular job. How can it be justified, when a nurse or fireman would be lucky to see half that in a year?

R4 this morining: MPs are going to be allowed to destroy receipts up to 2007. We are living under the most corrupt government since Stuart times.

Judgment is coming in the form of an economic meltdown.

Parliamentary privilege. Its been going on for years.

They need the ghost of Oliver Cromwell to return and root out corruption. I think we may have the most corrupt government and politicians ever seen.
