The Ayatollah Buggeri Posted February 28, 2008 Share Posted February 28, 2008 It cost me £8 for the 1.2 miles from the station to Bootham last week, if that's any consolation (though admittedly, the usual traffic queues in Leeman Road and Exhibition Square accounted for most of that). I only paid it because I had too fookin' heavy suitcases and could claim the fare on expenses, but compared to the free bus from Teesside Airport to Darlington station at the other end of that train journey (6 miles) it came as a bit of a shock! Unless you go to Rumours or Nags head and get distilled meths quite cheap.
