Even Bloomberg Has Some Idiots

Every Problem is an Opportunity for the U.S. Economy

The writer lists a swathe of problems and congratulates the U.S. economy for surviving them. She doesn't seem to appreciate that most have been averted by a dramatic expansion of credit and indebtedness, and the others are simply the resultant timebombs waiting to happen (e.g. property and commodities bubbles) that have been caused by the low interest rates.

It's all going to end in tears, and no amount of blind optimism is going to stop it.

ok she's a bull but it is true that the us economy has withstood those things - it's just likely that some of the things on that list won't be shaken off so easily as two wars, a terrorist attacks and a bunch of corporate accounting scandals - namely too much debt and too little saving, and the budget and current account deficits....

plus there is still a bubble in housing, high yield and emerging bond markets...

there will be some ass-biting, to be sure.
