Southend, Essex

Wow! Visited again today, quarter mill for houses in dump streets around Westcliff. £460K for average 3 or 4 bedders in the better areas "near the station". Oh dear oh dear, these areas are not even Leigh which kind of became fashionable-ish in the late 1980s. Massively over-priced for the local FTBer of course and unless the buyer's heading out of London to trade down or a sardine on the commuter lines then how can anyone there in Southend afford these homes. I'm astounded! My old house £250K? It was a dump then and is an even bigger dump now as the street has dropped even more in all these years - it looks like a run down neighbourhood of bedsits, quite amazing, I'd have thought £150K max and that'd be optimistic. Things are totally mad - and I even saw a good few Sold boards! Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!
