Postal Strike

Recommended Posts

Royal Mail Workers will be going out on strike dinner time today and they expect no post till next Thursday

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7027142.stm

What happens to anyone expecting important mail in the mean time. Its time the royal mail lost its monopoly and someone else could deliver post

Yeah there are loads of immigrants needing jobs who could be employed for next to nothing to deliver your post.

The problem is that RM did lose it's monopoly on the profit making bit - the parcels - and this has crippled them. The business used to turn over a healthy profit for the govt but the EU said they couldn't have a govt run monopoly so opened it up to private companies who've got the profit making bit.

If they're making a loss of 5.6p PER letter then expect stamps to go up.
