A Closer Look At Ron Paul

Look closer

I did BoomBoom, nothing new my furry friend. Did you see how much money he got from regular joes; 5.2M. According to the New York time this was "jaw dropping".

I look forward to his inaugural address.

C'mon, give us a few specific items. Seriously, I'm interested.

I quite liked "Non-intervention is traditional American & Republican policy".

Yeah, mind yer own business yanks!

The NRA endorsement is pretty much a sign of the (American) times. Nobody openly anti-gun is going to be elected President. Anyone remember seeing those photo-shoots (no pun intended) of Kerry firing off rounds from a rifle?

He is a sort of Constitution fundamentalist.

Thus where he said NO (or YES depending on the phrasing of the question) in some cases this is because he doesn't believe the Federal Government should have any influence on the matter, but rather it should be for the States to decide or individuals, again depending on the scope of the issue. His votes don't necessarily represent his personal opinion on the issues themselves. So be careful about reading too much into his votes until you consider the context in which he is voting.

I don't agree with everything he has said but you have to respect his principled stance.

He's a gynaecologist by profession, delivered 5,000 kids according to his website.

I'm guessing his opinion might be formed on his professional knowledge.

I don't think so - he voted against promoting responsible fatherhood through faith based charities. I think he's much more interested in removing state power than increasing religious power (although he is for the integration of church and state - don't know how he doesn't see the danger in that one! :D )

I think he's a great candidate (in terms of honesty), I just don't agree with all of his views at all (I understand that abortion is a complex moral issue, but I see more unwanted and badly cared for children as the real crime).

If he were to get in, I'd fear the consequences of America becoming militarily isolationist (though welcome them not actually invading/destabilising other countries!).

A gynaecologist? (Fanny Mechanic!). Means he can wallpaper his hall through his letterbox.

As a Blonde Essex girl said yesterday "I like Ron Paul but i'm still voting for that nice David Cameron".

I'd vote Ron Paul if I was an American. What's not to like about the guy?
