Times Property Editor Get It In The Neck

Recommended Posts

That woman is out of her mind.

"there is a certain kind of person who takes a perverse pleasure in the prospect of a catastrophic slump in prices"

is she mad?

But of course she's a homeowner and falls into the "I'm in, you're out, screw you".

When the property pundits publish their forecasts for 2008, they are likely to predict growth, albeit of just 3 per cent. The “s” word will be stagnation, not slump. Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), believes “a gradual ease-off” in prices lies ahead.

Personally, I have bever seen a market have a 'soft landing' in any circumstances in any period of my life. Property will crash in real terms over the next five years. If the Government can engineer a burst of inflation they may be able to avoid a nominal house price crash fall but only at the expense of rocketing retail prices and a slump in overall living standards as wages and bonus fail to keep up. Recession is round the corner - if we are lucky we will avoid a depresison.

They're moderated AKA: OMG, too negative, let's quietly close them off.

She looks a right scraggy B*tch, the sort you would find in an estate agents without any real qualifications

Yup! Know the type. Long blonde streaked hair, vacuous grin, affected accent, and as dim as a Toc-H lamp.

Glad to see someone put her straight.

Don't you remember her article whining about the MPC raising IRs and how that was unfair and wouldn't help HPI. She got crucified on the comments - Pretty much along the lines of 'the MPC is there to control inflation not property bubbles you fukwit!'

But that's just the trouble: the MPC have never made any attempt to control this property bubble, because that's simply not in their remit because they have to use the skewed CPI.

Some day the priced out generation will be the generation in power, I hope that's a comforting thought to the boomers.

I really wanted to point that out to Anne, but I fear my point would probably be lost on her.

Perma-tan, clapped out convertible....probably an ex-EA. I've sent in a comment saying she and David Smith may lose their jobs when the crash gathers pace. Just a friendly warning!

The same kind of perverse pleasure you get, when someone finally removes the red hot spike from your backside

RELIEF is the word you're after, you silly bitch.

they've yet to publish mine either. hardly suprised...

not suprised either, if they had any sense, they would look at the referrer which brought the commenter to their site, and probably bin anything to do with HPC. As an experiment, try going to the site by typing in www.thetimez.ko.uk and finding the article, then commenting.

Anne, are you perhaps under the same editorial mandate as David Smith of The Sunday Times? BTLs yourselves by any chance? As advice, I would suggest you both start backtracking or you will look completely inept and incompetent in your roles once the crash gathers speed.

Mary Jones, London,

One sneaked through.

well done Miss Jones
