Renting With Dogs?

Recommended Posts

I live in a part of London where houses are selling very fast and still appear to be rising a little. And I'm thinking that I may soon str. The main problem with that plan is that I have two springer spaniels and I don't know if it will be possible to rent with them.

We're thinking of moving to London's commuter belt area of Surrey and would be looking for an unfurnished 2 bed house with enclosed garden. How likely is it to find a house allowing dogs?

Hi iguana

We have a dog and 2 cats and there are some LLs that didn't want to rent to us. However, we did find a nice house and they were happy to accept the pets, but with a larger deposit and the condition that we had the house professionally cleaned at the end.

You might find that you have to pay a bit more, and probably the LLs that won't rent to you are the ones that have just pimped their house. We looked at one in Cobham a couple of months ago that had just been built (I think, it certainly looked very new) and they weren't keen on dogs, but funnily enough it is still up for let.

It was also just off a main road close to the A3 so was very noisy, which may be another reason.

Hope that helps.

Hi, i am busy looking for a place to rent (house sale completes next friday hopefully).

Anyways, i have found most LL to be flexable even though the EA advert states no pets, i guess its a box to fill in on the EA's paperwork.
