15th Anniversary

Recommended Posts

Looks like the laugh's on me then.

Seriously though, doesn't anyone relish the marvellous poetic nemesis of it all?

I think perhaps you should amend the topic title to "15th Anniversary of Black Wednesday" Then people will know what you are talking about. If they don't, they won't click through.

Good point though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Wednesday

for a change i find the news exciting and realistic. its all happening so quick there isnt even time to remove all the sickly property porn scheduled. hee hee.

what we need now is a good foot and mouth and / or bird flu scare to ease our minds off this situation....

Could the current events prove as politically disastrous for Labour, long-term, as Black Wednesday has been for the Tories all this time?

Let's make this thread long.

...don't be daft ...Gordo said no boom or bust on Nulabour's watch...that's real Tory stuff...no problem...:lol::lol::P

Yeah, I guess that would've drawn in the masses. Too late now. But I was sort of thinking that the clued-up folks here would automatically be aware that we were now upon a most interesting anniversary.

Then again, perhaps this extraordinary economic week (like that which preceded BW) has quite distracted them? It almost did me.

You mean Gordon's planning deliberately to crash NL on the electoral rocks before the crisis really bites in earnest?

Sounds tricky though - until it does, how is NL's poll rating going to fall enough for Gordy to ensure its landslide defeat?

MI5 will bump off David Cameron, thus eliminating a major Tory weak spot and garnering the sympathy vote as well.

Who knows, maybe they bumped off John Smith thus paving the way for Blair/Brown?

If it turned out that they did anything to help pave the way for those two idiots, I would refuse to ever watch Spooks again. Ever.

You watch WHAT? :o

Come to think of it, why wouldn't they have done the trick by orchestrating BM by arm-twisting Maggie into joining that doomed ERM?
