Badger Posted September 14, 2007 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Dunno if it's because it's an expensive place to live or what, but today another person (24 yr old unempolyed) gridlocked the entire town & surrounding roads after a suicide attempt. Another guy closed the A27 after threatening to lob himself into oncoming traffic off a nearby footbridge a few weeks ago.. (not to mention a bloke who shot himself a few doors down recently, but this was lady-related). Sign of the times possibly? We got chatting and I asked whether it was mainly old people and RTA deaths they saw. To my surprise it wasn't. He said they were dealing with increasing numbers of suicides motivated by debt, but couldn't elaborate too much as it was "sensitive" info. This is a true anecdote, in case you're wondering.
