Today Was A Good Day

Recommended Posts

Just thought I'd share the warm glow of property bear satisfaction with other HPC posters - I think today has been the best day in a long time for news that's bearish on housing. Just this morning I checked the Sky News business headlines on my mobile phone (forgot book and had nothing to read on the way to work) and the main headlines were:

1. House prices fall according to RICS survey

2. Oil prices up to record high

3. Food prices up

4. BoE will not bail out high-risk investors - Mervyn King

and then to put the icing on the cake, I scrolled down to the market winners and losers and the top two losers were:

Bradford & Bingley: - 3.2% (roughtly can't remember exact percentage now)

Northern Rock: - 2.7% (again roughly)

That just about made my day - let's hope this trend continues until we finally see normailsation in this crazy credit-fuelled boom <_<

Then again, if it does continue, I won't need to visit this site anymore for a daily dose of bearish news!

The day hasn't ended yet, see the Northern Rock thread.

This is gonna be one hell of a year. And I thought next year was gonna be the one.

Yes, it's been a good day.

I received a letter from my solicitor advising that the missives have been signed and I am now bound to sell my flat.

No WE CAN'T CONTROL MORTGAGE RATES ---BUT DON'T PANIC Daily Mail frontpage headlines here in Scotland though.

What a bunch of silly bankers!
