New Law Allows Casinos Tv Adverts

Recommended Posts

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6972220.stm

"This will allow casinos to become part of the mainstream leisure business and do a great deal to dispel a lot of myths about casino gambling and level the playing field," Roy Ramm, director of casino operator London Clubs International told BBC Radio Five Live.

I can't think of a worse timing for a casino boom, it takes the money from many and rakes off a cut then hands it back in a totally disproportionate fashion. Although maybe during a recession they make a good investment ? :)

Remember awhile back that NuLabour wanted to spread the use of brothels and to tax them as a business?

Super Casinos are a fitting symbol for the dying days of Brown's miracle economy where money appears from the air for no effort---just debt.

Personally I find this offensive, having seen several lives destroyed by gambling. Criminal government!

Next they will be legalising hard drugs and taxing them accordingly.

TBH, I think an almighty crash and sharp recession will do this country a LOT OF GOOD. We need to return to some decent values and rid this nation of the miracle economy and the social diseases it has spawned. Great Crash 2 may well prove to be the saviour of this country in the long term.

Well with the UK's large deficits I'm not surprised at this.

So Sad.

Where's Mr Pebble ?

From BBC Business 1999: "How to win the Lottery"

"For the ordinary punter though, the lottery is a "tax on hope and innumeracy".

So why do people bother? "

Apparently, it's all to do with "perceived utility" which means the more money you can win, the more likely you are to spend your £1 on a ticket.

Agreed Criminally culpable in the destruction of our currency and banking systems. I have no time for these globalist led politicians - they are like a pack of automatons, preprogrammed to obey their elite masters. Look at them all and tell me 'is there one original thinker left among them all' I think not.

We have seen our country rolled over - Govt stood idly by while financial institutions enslaved us in debt, Govt opened the gates to unbridled immigration forcing real pressure on the infrastructure we as taxpayers built, Govt handed many of our powers and controls to a foreign state (the EU) without putting it to a referendum.

And they will continue to destroy our nation on behalf of the VI Elite - until we say enough is enough.

RB my thoughts entirely - I'd rather get it a lot tougher over the next few years if I thought I'd see a better more caring UK emerge from wreckage of a pyramid scam.

Still, as long as we can all invest a huge amount of money in private arms corporations to go abroad and kill and maim then we should be doing ok.

Nothing to do with adverts but I got a leaflet with my credit card statement this week.

It said any transactions to do with gambling will be treated as a cash advance and would therefore attract fees and interest straight away.

Doesn't affect me because I don't gamble but got me wondering what's going on...

this is a shame - this government is just sick - this will just target the most vulnerable and gulable members of the sheeple who will get themselves into serious debt as the chancellor collects the taxes - gambling is getting too easy in this country especially with the fixed odds betting terminals in bookies now that people can easily fry a grand on in a 4 hour session - And now you can walk in to a casino of the street without the 24hr cooling off period required to get membership previously - so expect a lot more cases of addicts who previously manage to bar themselves from casino carrying out spontaneous acts of self destruction - these places have no windows, no clocks and they even pump oxygen in to the room keep people going - the average punter walking into a casino leaves with 60% of the money he walked in with - fact - still look on the bright side with my hpc head on - more repos

Much as I disagree with drug taking prohibition doesn't work. Far better for the money to go to pay for hospitals than to go into the pockets of organised crime.

Gambling is a bit different as I'm not aware of a huge illegal gambling industry in this country. Though I could be wrong. I know the Mob controlled gambling in the US for a long time.

There should be no advertising for gambling allowed IMHO. If people actively chose to seek it out there is little that can be done. But actively encouraging it is wrong.

But unless our freedom includes the freedom to utterly destroy yourself with gambling or whatever then it's not really freedom at all.
