Guest tbatst2000
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtm...30/cntax130.xml He said that the taxman tended to recoup around 50pc of bonus earnings in taxes and National Insurance, equating to as much as £7bn last year. With City jobs website efinancialcareers.com predicting a fall in bonuses of a fifth or more, the revenue stream could be £1.4bn lower next year. Of course, as everyone on this site knows, no-one in the City ever pays any tax on their bonuses so this is clearly wrong and Gordon has nothing to worry about. The next few years are going to be a pretty sobering time of introspection if people aren't worrying just about eating. Given the short term bonus pay structure of city jobs is there ever going to be a place for intelligent prudence?
