Some guy chunnering on about "healthy housing market"... then " still a challenging market" ..."employment is rising". "Markets are disciplined"..... "good competitive rates". " need for more new houses"

Only just caught his who he is.... 'White' and he is group chairman of summink to do with building... Might be Persimmon. :unsure:

It was the Persimmon CEO. They reported good results.

When isn't it?

Probably true.

Compared to the US was the context in which this was said.

Still low compared to historical rates he said.

" need for more new houses"

No surprise from a builder. He gave a sensible point that his business requires 2 years of land bank with detailed permission. My take is that if the government wants more housing, it has to give more permissions, rather than pressure the builders to build.

It was Persimmon, I thought he talked about the market quite sensibly.

The only +ve bear point I could hear was that prices were to rise by 3%, less than wage inflation, not much for bear breakfast this morning.
