Should All Personal Wealth Be Nationalised

Recommended Posts

Given the gross misplacement of wealth in this nation, with much of it being payed out each month to selfish people who are polluting our planet going to work each day in their cars, using aircon in the office, and vast amounts of electricity surfing the web at work.

Would it not be a good idea to start from scratch. To nationalise wealth and housing and pensions, and share it all out equally with the bulk going to those who are not selfish and do not subsribe to the work ethnic, and those who are currently employed by organisations who are engaged in saving our planet.

You are kidding right, why should some chav who sits on their ass get the same as me! Sorry but Communism like this does not do anything for a society and takes away free will. I for one will not stand for that!

Guest Shedfish

a good idea in theory - however...

since i've just spent years busting my gut to save some money to get a foot on this mythical 'ladder' (with the taxman doing his best to stop my noble pursuit), my first human reaction to someone trying to take it off me would be to beat them until i saw brain

human nature maybe..

i used to be such a hippy!

What is worrying is that there are people around that I have met that actually think like this.

I have to say I too am sick to the stomach of working my ars3 off and watching massive deductions going out of my paypacket and into the pockets of those who have no intention of working.

Socialism for me begins at home, call me an old fool but I always thought that in going to work I was doing the right thing in providing for myself and my future. This stance seems to be looked down upon as something selfish.

We have all sleepwalked into the notion that its perfectly acceptable to pass a massive portion of our hard work into someone elses pocket.

To make matters worse, if I were unemployed tommorow I would get only Job seekers allowance, and from what I understand that is 37 quid a week. Given that I pay over £1,500 in direct tax and NI each month, and my education was and remains to this day self funded I find this unacceptable.

My P60 shows deductions of over £52k in the tax year 06/07. Thats before Council Tax,IPT,APD,VAT etc etc. Its a huge con but i cannot see it stopping anytime soon. Our country is geared to financing those that say they are destitute. If i was unemployed i would not even bother going near a benefit office. Presumably as someone that has paid into the system for years and years i would receive nothing.

I agree.

the principle of communism is noble, but that assumes everybody in the system contribrutes something to it....like a farmers collective bartering between themselves for arable/dairy/market produce in order to sustain themselves.

what we have now is a group of workers going flat-out to sustain spongers at BOTH ends.

...so surely we need a bit of weedkiller thrown on the crops to get rid of the parasitic vegetation.

Yeah. Bring back the only government since the war to reduce overal taxation - the 74-79 Old Labor govmt !!

With their huge levels on unearned income and the rich taxes for ordinary working people was even lower in proportion.

Tax Freedom Day

which form of socialism would you like???

..the one where people enter it of their own free will, and all on equal terms...a collective if you like

..or an enforced collective...like a beehive, where a hierarchy still prevails, and workers are just that...nothing more.

I'll give you 3 guesses as to which one is planned!!!

Laurejon and his 'work ethnic'

Thinks: your Freudian slip's showing.

Q. What's the difference between attending a fee-paying school and being educated?

A. Ask Laurejon

There is a balance, and again it was that very labour governments politics of envy that made it more profitable to stay at home and take, rather than work for a living.

If I had my way I would make anyone who doesnt work get up at 6am and start work at 7am cleaning our streets, and doing the nasty jobs nobody else wants to do. You just watch how the unemployment figures fall!!. Overnight.
