Have Mortgage Fees Dropped Recently

Recommended Posts

I browse the A and L mortgage deals every few weeks (still a year away from remortgaging) and have noticed that their rates have not changed in the last month but they seem to have reduced a lot of their arrangement fees from 1500 to 600 or so.

Long term borrowing rates have fallen slightly in the last few weeks as a result of a change in expectations about future base rate rises. What A&L have probably done is keep their mortgage rate the same and reduced the fees instead - it's always easier to shift a product that costs less up front.

Their rates haven't dropped so I think that is what they have done.
