AOL UK picks up on the Fitch report, but interestingly launches it as its main members homepage news item today. I know it is not the biggest media vehicle in our world, but in a little poll over 7,000 people have voted and the majority think the market will crash. Drip drip drip, all this is getting the sentiment to shift out there.

Actually I think the majority are either 'no' or 'housing what's?'

So get over there and vote folks!

Interesting to see that France topped their list. Given that the average wage is lower in France than the UK, it confirms that the HPI inflation (in the main) is being fuelled by foreign speculators (UK, Scandinavia, Russia and Italy are the big buyers).

Prices in Paris, French Riviera and the South West (Dordogne etc) have exploded in recent years. Most locals I know cannot buy anything in towns and have to live further and further "in the back country". One good piece of news is that the foreigners are feeling the pinch and are starting to sell up. I know of one who has put her 1 bed appartment on the market and hasn't had a serious enquiry for the last 3 months.

Although to be fair, this lot would probably have said yes/no/dk if you'd asked them if they think vampires are responsible for the increased cost of garlic. People just LOVE taking part in polls online. They don't think it through, they just choose one.

Makes you wonder if the results would be different if the same people had answered at exactly the same time but if the answers had been in a different order.

But I did it anyway. Got to support the forums here and respond to people where you can :)
