OR, they will be able to buy the house for a substantial discount under the 'Right-to-buy' scheme, then sell the house for about £1 million and split the dosh between them all - sorted! I'm not too concerned by it. It's not 'worth' £500k anyway, although I am firmly against this systematic 'sponging' in society. I know of a few people who are claiming for everything they can (quite legitimately) and who already know that it isn't worth them expending any effort in getting back in to work. On the other hand, you only need to have very modest housing and income before you get F all. Sooner or later either benefits will need to be cut, or the government is going to be facing deficits which need to be financed through the printing presses. Hmmm.....so, you work for a living and live in a rented flat presumably on an AST with no security beyond a few months. These guys have a large council supplied property with a secure tenancy, enough money to run an ok car (assuming that's theirs and not the reporter that did the story) and no requirement to go and wage slave. Those 12 children are worth that when the welfare state collapses and they work, find they can only rent, and pay taxes to the elite via ID cards.
