It's Still Not Here

Just from today:

Halifax price prediction up: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6906005.stm

13% on BTL: http://investing.reuters.co.uk/news/articl...RE-BUYTOLET.xml

I bet 3 colleagues 15 smackers each that we'd be down 10% by December (starting point May - landreg data)

they keep sending me these links to taunt me

where is the CRUNCH?!

Is that 10% YoY by December 2007? :o If so you're toast. Sorry, but I think you got carried away there.

Now if you had said December 2008 you'd be laughing IMO. ;)

Perhaps try this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/in_d...as/html/las.stm

This shows that below 300K, land registry data is negative for most areas.

the 13% gain on BTL incorporates equity gain, so unless you sell it your stuck with subsidising the rent which is the norm for most BTL newbies (note i use the word newbies there!)

December. Don't know about ten percent, but at least by then I think you might save face by it going down nationally. Though I've had a four pints, aren't an economist and are just going on sentiment and hope the raging bull of London is silent by then.
