Wharfers unite to fight factory plan

A DAVID and Goliath-style battle is under way to stop plans for a recycling plant at an historic wharf.

Corey Environmental wants to recycle bottles, plastic and metal at Peruvian Wharf, and the proposal will be considered by the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation on August 9.

The plant would operate around the clock and create between 34 and 90 jobs.
