Homeowners Warned: More Mortgage Rate Rises Are On The Way

Recommended Posts

Daily Mail

Millions of homeowners are facing further mortgage misery.

Economists said today another increase in the cost of borrowing is almost certain and could come next month.

It would be the sixth since last August and take the Bank of England's base rate from its present 5.75 per cent to six per cent, the highest level since February 2001.

But the prospect of higher interest rates is good news for British tourists going to the US. The pound jumped to a 26-year high of almost $2.05 as a result.

Fears of an interest rate rise increased when figures were released today showing that prices are rising too quickly.

The hardest hit will be two million homeowners who are on fixed rate mortgages due to end in the second half of the year. They could face increases from 4.5 per cent to six per cent when they come to lock into a new fixed rate.

The sheeple must be getting extremely confused by now. Headlines today in the Daily Excess screamed "Houses increasing in value by 50 knicker a day!!!"

My bet is that the average sheeple no longer believes the hype as the cost of real living soars. The "value" of your house does little to meet the weekly bills now that the ATM has ceased working as smoothly.

And very strange comments to them from the Mail readers!

Can someonwe please tell me where the secret money tree is please? I mean, there is a money tree, right?? How else am I and everyone else supposed to meet the ridiculous rise of gas bills, electricity bills, food, council tax and now all the mortgage rises. Where do the Government think we can find all this extra money from? Do they think we all have so much disposable income we won't miss it? Most don't have it to start with. It was a disgrace the gas prices were allowed to rise so much in such a short space of time. I thought Governments were suppose to look after the interests of its' people? When is ours going to start?

It's right under your nose stupid - it's your house of course :)
