[*]houses still rising?? much discussion around the water cooler

Yes, according to all measures.

[*]mad max scenarios again on HPC

© 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, still not here yet.

[*]gold is good but it's not rising

Is it really. Well well.

[*]FTSE due a correction but it's not happening

They go up, they go down.

[*]CDO nightmare ready to explode/implode

So they keep saying. Seems to be no more than a very small bump.

[*]"war on terror"... again!

Who cares?

[*]nightmare landlords & BTL-meltdown

Yes right you are.

[*]china new world economy or making the mistakes of Japan

Maybe who can say. Does it matter? Japan imploded and the world did not end.

[*]oil crashing through $100 or new green paradigm

Price doubles regular enough. Has not really made much difference so far.

Almost certainly the same as yesterday. Only very slightly worse.

To be fair, I think bdon has some good points.

I would describe it as peeking over the edge of a precipice, wondering what's over the edge of the cliff - every market seems to be forecasting/anticipating change, but as yet none appears to be occurring.

Sometimes the glacial slowness of this HPC thing gets pretty draining!

bite

"war on terror" is new

scale (x trillions) of CDO/MBS is new

China's ermergence from factory to innovative capitalism is very new

BRIC is a new force

I agree it's the same as yesterday, but most definately not the same as 5 years ago, 10 years ago.

Our grandparents couldn't have predicted decimalisation, the rise of Europe, and calling an nice Indian lady in Bangalore to get their electric connected up. And don't even get me started on iPhone!

>> "war on terror" is new

Only really interesting because we don't have anything big to worry about like the cold war.

>> scale (x trillions) of CDO / MBS is new

Again, in historical terms I suspect it wont be in the headlines in 2 years time. It's not all that prominent now.

>> China's emergence from factory to innovative capitalism is very new, BRIC is a new force

No different from the Asian tiger economies, Japan, Germany and so on.

>> I agree it's the same as yesterday, but most definitely not the same as 5 years ago, 10 years ago. All very true. But it's the next 10 years which are of interest to me primarily.

You are a fcukwit with nothing to say so dont say it.
