Take-home pay growth picks up in June
LONDON (Reuters) - Annual growth in take-home pay in Britain rose to 3.3 percent in June from 3.0 percent in May, according to the Voca take-home pay index published on Wednesday.
That was the first increase since February and reflected strong wage growth in the manufacturing sector.
Voca, which processes wage payments, said the figures were likely to be distorted by second-quarter bonuses and redundancy payments since official statistics show a continued reduction in manufacturing employment.
A breakdown shows manufacturing pay growth rose to 4.8 percent in June from 3.4 percent in May while services pay growth eased to 2.1 percent from 2.5 percent.

I wonder if this will get the Muppets into a frenzy of bobbing and leaping around with Gonzo (Danny Blanchflower) darting backwards and forwards accross the room excitedly. I can just picture the scene.

If there's one kind of inflation that you can be confident the MPC will act decisively to curb, it is wage inflation. Can't be having the proles getting their hands on all that lovely counterfeited money!
