Relocation expert Catherine Gee meets British families abroad who are considering moving back to the UK. In this edition she meets Stan Jones, who moved his family to Cyprus after 20 years of running his own construction company in Manchester. Though his wife and son are happy living the dream, Stan has begun to hanker after his old life in the UK. Four years after they left their homeland, some forgotten emotions are rekindled when Catherine takes them back to see how Manchester has changed.

Welcome back to hell Mr Jones

Your old house has probably gone up by 70% so has the cost of living & crime. If I was an expat I wouldn't wanna come back to the hell not yet anyway!

Saw this previewed in tonight's paper - if they want to move back into their old house, they apparently need to find £220,000 extra from somewhere

What did they used to have on TV before Property Porn, Studio Talk Shows and Reality TV? Was it repeats? It's so long ago i've forgotten :(

Did they buy a house or rent anywhere for the entire program?, they are coming back to the "soulless dingy place where people are rushing to nowhere" as they put it.

Looked like a close decision. The Olympic inspection style tour may have distorted their view a bit.

They were thinking about buying a holiday home in lake district - jokers!!

Do you think that presenter was an EA? as she did her best to suck them back into the mess! Mr Jones your son might become a cricketer if you come back but no chance of that in Cyprus. Errrr what happens if his son can't become a 'cricketer'. If I had to pay more than £220K for the very same house I sold 4 years ago I wouldn't even come back for Christmas break never mind returning for good

And just in case they were thinking of returning to Cyprus, let's wheel out the old Mum:

"Please don't go back! I'm not getting any younger. I don't want you to go back . . . "

Unbelievable.

On again tonight, looks like they miss imported goods from China at below inlflation cost, but dislike the house prices. Another round of Olympic inspector type tour of the UK.

Australia it is, good choice by her. 3 months later Unless he can find a job, in which case they will come back to the UK.
