Working Families 30k Per Annum Worse Off Under Labour

Recommended Posts

Under New Labour, Working Families are now in real terms £30,000 per year worse off than under the Tories.

This is due to 300% increases in Council Tax, Stealth Taxes of 300% on most commonly bought necessities.

And mortgage payments to buy what was the average property at 50k in 1996, would now cost 280k.

New Labour, and in particular the Chancellor Gordon Grabber Brown MP from Scotland, have stolen the lives of several generations of English Citizens.

If you were to purchase an average house today as a working family you would pay 15k in mortgage payments per annum. Under the tories, you would have paid 6k, 500pcm.

In addition, working couples are now paying an additional £9,800 in taxes between them, and paying an additional 7k per annum in stealth taxes and national insurance contributions. Road Tax, Alchohol Tax, Council Tax,Petrol Tax, Congestion Charging, Passport Tax, Animal Licence Tax, Dentist Tax, Prescription Tax, Railways Tax, Bus Tax, have all contributed to make the average family 30k per annum worse off.

Obviously they dont lose 30k they just give up buying a house, and live in rented, and run to stand still.

A better illustration would be for someone to go out, throw caution to the wind.

Buy an average 3 bed semi, and live the life that a young working family would live in 1996.

I can guarantee they will be 30k in debt by the end of a year!!!.

In fact most working families dont make that much in total, so have they gone from £30K to £0 ?. Yep the workers are now loosing out but they were when maggie was around also. Torries hated the workers with a passion, and they will next time they are in. remember the poll tax, the poorer the area you lived in the more poll tax you paid. Whats p*sses me off is that all potential future governments will subscribe to globalism and low wages, so not a lot to hope for me thinks.

He must mean £3k: £30k is more than the household income of some working families, and it's impossible to earn a salary in minus numbers. Still, £3k is bad enough.

Meh, mostly inflation I'd bet. 10 years, inflation at 3%, average household income goes up from 23000 to 30000, extra 7k. Tax is 42% of GDP, so all-in the Government is taking £12,600 rather than £9660 from the average family. There's your £3k, before any actual taxes go up or down.

In 1996 under the Tories if you earnt 15k (I was earning 25k on building sites at the time) you could borrow 3.5 times your earnings.

So you could borrow £52,500, the average house price was 55k!!!.

Face facts, you have all been screwed by the Labour Party, and yet you still harp on about the Tories.

Keep voting Labour, and you will find they have only just started, they will like all Socialists not be happy till you are wearing grey uniforms and working in sweat shops, we are heading that way now. However you have to be under 25 to realise it.

Laurejon I agree it has gone tits up but Nu Lab are not behaving like socialists.

Socialists, or a Scargill like version, were protectionist and believed in the state owning the means of production.

Nu L:ab have been more Thatcherite than Thatcher , she bottled it. Friedman told her so. Well he did not say bottled it as such but anyhow PFI etc have been taken to water so clear and blue that Portillo crys in a corner every night.

It's really naive to say things are bad under Labour, things will be good under Conservative.....

Shit happens....it's not really who's in government at any given time.

I've prospered massively under Labour.....but it's more to do with the economy having been great since the Tories were in.

It will get bad again......if Tories get in (which they won't) it will be percieved as their fault, but things go up & down regardless.

There will be a Labour government for another 20 years...get used to it....we had to put up with 18 years of the nazi Tories.

The game is up with Labour. Even the labour spin machine and the pointlessness of David Cameron cant stop a conservative election victory. The Scottish question, the economy, housing, USA, Iraq, Afghanistan, labour, sleaze - FFS how can anyone ever think Labour will be elected again within 10 years.

Rather negative - stand for election if you are that way minded.

And who will fund me? Almost all poltical funding now comes from the very people I'd be decrying.

Requires £500 deposit still to stand.

As for funding, if you have anything to offer then you should be able to persuade people to finance you.

Are you a professional wind-up merchant? what you are suggesting is a political meritocracy, no such thing exists. We are a nation of gobshites that elect gobshites. One nation under gobshittery.

yeah. labour would be finished if the torys were any better. which they are not. i guess id agree the next 20 years will be red ones.

(or pink really)

.....20 more years of Marxist Brown who has destroyed in the last 10 years the human spirit of this country, which will have no next generation except for people who decide to migrate here......even the muppets could have done better in government......they have never had my vote and never will......

You are assuming that the rest of the population thinks like you (and possibly me)

Nah, presentation is everything these days. We are already starting to see the new humanised Gordon Brown on our TV screens. He will pull some unexpected populist strokes over the next couple of months to put distance between himself and Blair, ride his honeymoon period and call an election just before the economy goes too obviously tits-up.

And he'll walk it.

GB has always been the evil brains behind the Nulabor project with TB as the grinning puppet. He's had 20 years to plan this and in that scheming he's proved himself to be quite brilliant. He even managed to aquire a wife and kids to further his ambitions when there had previously been no suspicion of heterosexual predelictions.

The public at large, who previously knew little of him, are warming to him.

Nothing will stop Gordon Brown...
