US economy close to stall speed, warns IMF
By our City staff
Last Updated: 12:25am BST 23/06/2007
The US economy appears to be emerging from a period of sluggish growth but is “uncomfortably close” to the “stall speed” associated with past recessions, the International Monetary Fund said yesterday.
In its annual report on the United States, the IMF cut its outlook for US gross domestic product growth but said it shares the assessment of US authorities “that the most likely scenario is a soft landing.”

Definite signs of sneezing from across the pond. To think that Great Crash 2 will not have consequences is very foolish. This "soft landing" idea is wishful thinking when you consider that busts always follow booms. And the bigger the boom.........
