teaken from the article:

"The goal is to force governments to give back billions in tax collections they enjoyed during Florida's now-ended real estate boom by giving the average taxpayer $150 in savings this year."

h'mmm, that really gonna help them.

Just got back from seeing my Dad in Florida, his homes that were renting for $1250 pcm last year are now going for $950 pcm, and prices are through the floor so there is no getting out.

I told him to get ready to ride it out for 5 years or so, maybe more, and then all will be well for the next ride up the rollercoaster.

From the article "Local government officials warn the tax break will require cuts in services. Parks, libraries, street repairs and even police and fire departments will face reductions as most South Florida municipalities eliminate between 5 to 9 percent of their budgets."

5-10 years from now there will be an outraged western society in your backyard.

Buy gold.

The problem is it isn't even giving then back money that they earned, it's giving them 'back' money that other people earned

If they were to give back tax monies to people who actually did something to earn that money, that would help
