Halifax Fixed Rates Up Again

From 25th June

5.49%, 2 yr fixed, NOW 5.79%, 0-90% LTV, £1499 fee, £0-500k loan band

5.69%, 2 yr fixed, NOW 5.89%, 0-90% LTV, £999 fee, £0-500k loan band

5.79%, 2 yr fixed, NOW 5.99%, 0--90% LTV, £299 fee, £0-500k loan band

not so long ago (few months) you could get a long term fixed rate at 5.35% with a low fee of £200

now the best i can see is 6.2% with a larger fee

that is quite a rise! more than the BOE base rate rise!!

The differentials are shrinking. However we're still way below the differentials of 2000-01 when mortgages were typically 1.5-2% above base rate.
