Someone Hoping To Make A Killing?

Recommended Posts

There's redevelopment going on up my street.

The dodgy-looking-closed pub and the petrol-station-that-became-a-hand-car-wash have been knocked down and a hoarding went up. I was intrigued by this because the only signs on the hoarding were for a petrol station development company.

But now there are signs on the hoarding for www.stephenhowardhomes.co.uk . I can expect 52 luxurious 1 & 2 bedroom apartments apparently  .

Now, several things intrigue me about this.

1) When I look at 'The Chimes' on the website there isn't even an architect's impression of it so whoever has bought all these apartments has a direct route in to the developers.

2) The sole estate agents, King Sturge, don't acknowledge that they deal with South East London suburbia and have no reference to The Chimes on their website.

Far be it for me to urinate on anyone's bonfire but "location, location, location"! On one side there is a new development of social housing and all around is ex-council looking blocks. I live on that side of the road and have a totally northerly aspect so I don't get any direct sun into my flat. If the flats have balconies they will either look out over a bus route and get no sun or, get the sun and a view of a 1950s council block.

True luxury living

No indication of original asking prices but I look forward to watching Property Snake on this one in a year or so's time.
