Well, when your main output depends on debt being forced upon the populous, no wonder business suffers occasionally...

Wrecked by Private Equity...so its now its going to get more of the same treatment.

Focus, which was owned by private equity firms Duke Street Capital and Apax. was originally founded in 1987

Though all "Big Ticket" retailers are now starting to suffer (furniture stores etc...)

The £1 is a nominal sum as the real cost for the purchasers will be the payment of the debt, the divdend to bond holders plus the fairly significant employee liability they are likely to be taking on there may well be other significant liabilities such as leases etc etc.

Maybe having done their due dilligence the bank felt more comfortable with a new management team at the helm???

Just as there's no such thing a free lunch there's no such thing as a company turning £40 million pounds per annum of profit for a quid.

Now that's what I call a sale. Maybe Focus DIY will now be added to the CPI basket?

Hope they kept the receipt.
