How Hard Can It Be ?

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

I have mortgage back in 2003 and it costs me £600 a month in payments. I dont earn that much but I can afford the repayments, even if interest rates went up to 12%. I dont live in a big house, but it is a lovely home, i have done my best to do DIY, and I am in the process of trying to extend it.

Lets face it, I cant afford to take the risk of moving up the property ladder, as I dont earn enough to really afford the next step.

All I have to do is keep working and keep paying the mortgage and try to stay clear of any other debts such as credit cards and home improvement loans.

How hard can it be to survive in the modern UK without going under, just dont fall for the bull spouted out by credit card companies about clearing debts and transfering balances. Its all sales to them, they dont really care do they ?

If you keep your head down and try and make over payment to your mortgage, budget permitting, and forget about mewing, then you will have a nice home in about 20 years or so.

I think its time in the current climate to get real and not extend yourselves.

If you have ready cash you put it in investments you think are going to rise; property is not in that category but will be after 6 years of falls. You need to be happy about renting which requires a degree of self-confidence.
