Pension Funds Rush To Beat Market Crash

Fears of a stock market crash have prompted dozens of British pension schemes to put themselves up for sale.

The bond markets went into meltdown last week, pushing yields on European and US government stocks to their highest levels in five years.

Soaring bond yields have caused a dramatic narrowing of deficits on hundreds of British pension schemes. Many saw their deficit close by as much as 1.5 per cent between Thursday night and Friday morning, according to market sources.
