Shortage Of Supply

Recommended Posts

Here's something I've been monitoring for a while

I believe I may have spotted a trend in this data (look carefully for the tell tale 'blimey it's going through the roof' near the right hand side).

There are plenty of houses, it's just BTLers have bought them all and are only interested in selling if they can make a massive profit. There are hundreds of thousands of empty houses, we just need to force the owners to let us use them!

The best plan would be to remove the tax breaks for buy-to-let landlords.

Why not, instead of taxing the people who work, we tax the people who own all the land?

We need to do whatever it takes to get these speculatots OUT of hte housing market.

If the government wont take action, I think we may need to take action ourselves.

Maybe we should start moving into and squatting in unoccupied houses?

Getting a squatter evicted takes upto 12 months... we should seize the houses... you get to live 12 months rent free, and in the meantime they cant do anything with the houses.

Locally, two EA's have started radio advertising to get more properties. Reduced fees, buyers waiting etc. They would not be doing that if they had lots to sell. Shortage of supply definately exists where I am.

May be nobody wants to use these agents??? Looks like a marketing hype to get business for them. Difficult to conclude any evidence of supply shortage.
