Giving Notice - A Quandry!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

my 6 months tenancy agreement ends on the 12th June and I want to move on, but I have to give 1 months notice. Would it be possible for me to give my notice now, before the 12th or do I have to wait until the 12th? I appreciate its only a couple of days but I'm trying to tie in my move out date with my anticipated move in date for another property. My LL hasn't really been on the ball and has only given us 'temporary' contracts which doesn't say anything about notices however she has warned us verbally. She has been a good landlord so I don't really want to get on bad terms and end my tenancy in a negative way.

Cheers for the help!

If your LL has been a delight, I think it only fair you let her know of your intentions as soon as possible, verbally at least. That way she has more chance of getting another tenant to replace you, and is more likely to try to help you with dates etc.

Hope the move works out for all parties
