2 Out Of 3 Bankers Think They Will Loose Job Soon

Recommended Posts

EDIT: Sorry, should say 'lose', not 'loose'. I know, I know...

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=home

June 1 (Bloomberg) -- Standard Chartered Plc, a U.K. bank that makes most of its money in Asia, plans to move between 50 and 100 banking positions to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from London.

...

``It's bringing the business closer to its customer base,'' said Mark Thomas, an analyst at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods Ltd. in London.

...

Dubai-based bankers are more insecure in their jobs than those based in London, according to a survey of users of the recruitment Web site Efinancialcareers.com. More than 72 percent of Dubai-based bankers asked said they expected to lose their jobs in the next two years, compared with 66.7 percent in Europe and 66.1 percent in Asia Pacific.

...

Do the bankers know anything other people don't know? Or why do a vast majority of them think they're about to lose their jobs?

Shame.... The IT industry has been hammered already by this, only for some jobs to start coming back due to communication problems, lack of initiative and ability.

So as long as the job can be done without much interaction with the West then the jobs may stay there. Of course, once the economic power moves fully over there then we'll be acting as call centres for them....

Because they're crap and they know it, it's the old 80/20 rule again, a minority of people make the majority of profits, the rest are chaff.

thought police.....this is the new tactical wing of the ministry of justice...pre-emptive removal of anyone not "with the programme"......fashion police would be ok because fat birds in leggings and/or crop-tops is GBH on the eyeballs!!(oh crap,I think I've just given victoria beckham a cosy littl public-sector non-job)

chief"get with the programme" development officer for the ministry of jobsworths...region x(all 25 regions applicable, with subordinates)

...all answerable to the deputy chief programme exectitive board.

...who is headed by the secretary of state for WELL-BEING.A certain Dr. Carteau from the film,DEMOLITION MAN

I almost forgot.....we need a few paperwork processors in there as well. All forms to be filled in triplicate and sent to departments that don't communicate with one another because they haven't been given an inter-departmental communications team to do it.
