Nathan
How would you write a quote you haven't heard?

Neither did you judging by your spelling and use of a made up word.
Guest The_Oldie
It sounds like a variation on Joe Kennedy and the shoe shine boy.
Nathan
Besides, the quote was given to me verbally, not handed to me on a piece of paper. Hence the 'original quotator' is blameless here. Seriously, DYIV, how would you write it? Edited May 29, 2007 by Nathan

Does anyone know who said it? Yes. I know exactly who said it. Your dad! And a very wise saying it is too, if I may say so. You must be proud. p Edited May 29, 2007 by patprimer74

Sorry, which particular aspect of the OP's grammar were you objecting to? Having taught English for a few years in the past I don't see any problem. Even the colloquial 'gonna' is acceptable.. Your posting however has 2 mistakes. Please correct and re-post!

Rachman
I push it along in a rusty wheelbarow. I understood your point, it's just that it's somewhat gauche and a bit off to refer to income brackets - there are a lot of people less fortunate who would never dream of earning what you pay in tax each year - using it as a brickbat is simply worse.
