Can you really buy sweat?

Isn't that basically what those pheromone sprays are? :)

Great - the Human Rights Act was only introduced into domestic law to protect the rights of the criminal, terrorist, idle scroungers and various other types of n'er do wells.

Maybe the rights of the honest hard-working citizen will now be considered above them.

The HRA guarantees such abominations as freedom of speech, freedom of association, the right to privacy, the right to peaceful protest and a fair trial. An outrage if you ask me. I'm an honest hard working citizen yet Reid scares the wits out of me.

"If you've got nothing to hide....."

What is really frightening is the ease with which evidence against anyone could be manufactured in this day.

you're right, prior to its incorporation into UK law in 2000 I couldn't associate with who i wanted, couldn't protest, couldn't say or think what i wanted within the parameters of the law, and had i have been unlucky to find myself in court, well it would have been curtains for me!

Yes indeed - the little old lady who lives 2 doors down had a covert camera installed in her house and had all her telephone calls tapped by the government.

They then decided to plant some nuclear reactors under her tea cosy and now she's doing 5 to 10 in the Pen!

Same happened to Mr Average in the next street yesterday, and the postman last week. Apparently the State decided to do it just for fun as they had nothing better to do.

So you're right.....if you have nothing to hide you'll still end up inside

UK Might Opt Out on Human Rights

Good ...let's focus on human responsibilities first.......if it's chicken and egg .......I know what I think should be first!

Rights have to be earned!

OK, what would you say to the woman protesting at the cenotaph who was arrested under anti-terrorism laws for simply reading out the name of the british war dead in Iraq?

The laws we have at the minute give the authorities carte blanche to make the rules up as they go along. All very well until you're given a fixed penalty notice for calling a police horse gay or put in a prison cell for standing in silence at the end of downing street holding a placard.

We live in dangerous times, the question is is it too late for the general public to awake from their slumber?

Yip, the great thing about the HRA it give's the same rights to a hard working law abiding citizen

to a terrorist. One lag was complaining that his human rights were infringed because

he didn't have access to porn..

The HRA is great in theory but in practice ?????

Can't wait for the people champion or self imposed peoples representative

Shami Chakrabarty will be clogging our screens over the next few weeks

telling us how we should be reacting!!!
