Chancellor moving into 10 Downing Street flat

Chancellor Gordon Brown will move his family into the flat above 10 Downing Street, the Treasury has confirmed today.

No 11 has been the official home of the Chancellor of the Exchequer since 1828
The Chancellor has had the use of the flat at Number 10 since 1997, but has mainly used it for entertaining.
A treasury spokesman said that the rooms, which had been used as offices, had been converted back to bedrooms, as they were under Margaret Thatcher and John Major.
The confirmation follows a report in the Sun that Mr Brown would move in next week.

Getting a foot in the door? Some kind of psycho ploy? This is weird. :o
