Hpc Gets A Mention On Mse

Recommended Posts

I really hope the post by Sunny Suzie isn't for real.

I had my lightbulb moment when I was twenty, and now by my late twenties I could afford to buy thanks to saving a big deposit!

forget holidays, quit drinking, learn to entertain yourself

these days we think we have a right to go out and get drunk, or to buy an iPod, or to go to the costa del bling - get real - 99% of the world can do without these things - so can you!

We don't have the right to a social life anymore? start work - save - buy house - pay of mortgage - die.

I really hope it's a troll (possible as she would of started saving in 1998ish when prices were affordable) Sad if she's just wasted her 20's sat in.

Hi, it was the stagnation of the last year and a bit. The market has peaked. Even though my natural inclination was just to sit tight ( a strategy that has worked well for me in the past :-) this is obviously the end of the boom.

Not to mention that the whole 'game' no longer stacks up. Too competitive. Too many desperate newbie BTLers accepting ludicrously low rents and 'subsidizing' their tenants putting downward pressure on MY places!. I couldn't do that with my portfolio - it was my income! Rather than compete with them, I simply sold my portfolio to them.

And I thank God for an 18 month window in which my dithering didn't cause my financal ruin!

By the by, I observe that there was a 'previous' property guru on this forum. No relation. My choice of name was just what seemed appropriate. After all, I have made (and cashed in a lot of money from property - makes me a 'guru' tongue in cheek! :-). I have other names on other forums.

For example, I am 'Goldfinger' on one place, and 'Snapshot' on another. It signifies nothing and I must confess to a slight sense of disquiet to see people I have no knowledge of claiming intimate acquaintance with me.

Ramble ramble. Excuse me.
